Check Broadband Usage With Sky
By geordieg00
Background
Sky offer a number of different broadband packages, at different speeds and different download allowances, but how can you check broadband usage to know that you haven't gone over your allowance and incur extra charges? Well, thanks to a new tool developed by Sky, you can check broadband usage, and avoid using too much.
How Do I Check Broadband Usage?
Very easily! As a Sky customer, simply log onto the following link:
Log on using your usual Sky username and password, and you will see the details of all of your allowances, and usage. This tells you how much you are allowed to use based on your current package, how much you have already used, and how long you've got left of your current allowance period. As you can see in the screenshot below, you can see I've gone over my allowance this month!
As you can see above, the text explains that if I go over my broadband usage allowance again in the next 5 months, I'll automatically be upgraded to the next level and charges accordingly.
Can I Monitor Usage Without Logging on Every Day?
Yes you can. On this same page, Sky allows you to setup automatic email alerts whenever you get to 50%, 75%, or 90% of your allowance. Simply select the relevant radio button, ensure your email address is correct, and click "Save Changes". This allows you to automate your broadband usage check by automatically telling you as you use your allowance. See screenshot for how this looks.
Thats it, an easy way to do a Sky broadband usage check!

Hi - i've been getting my notification emails fine, maybe check your junk mail folder? In any case, they only upgrade you if you go over your limit two times within a six month period. Actually i've gone over 3 times now and they havent upgraded me yet so not sure if the whole system is working properly yet.
If you havent had the notification and thats caused you to go over, i'd recommend contacting the customer care team, they're usually really helpful. Good luck!!
i am not sure how to make my sky anytime+ work.
I have had a telephone conversation with one of your operators regarding my broaddand. You sent me an e mail to say that i had gone over my monthly allowance in December 2011. the lady told me that this month so far i have only used 0.5gb but when checking the usage tool it tells me i am still over and does not start in the new for 8 days. ccould you please rightify this as i want to be able to keep check on my usage. Thanks
The usage tool is still telling me that i am over my monthly broadband allowance and that the new allowance does not not start for another 8 days, It has been telling me this since January, can you not correct this.
Thanks

I clicked the spot requesting to be informed before I went over my limit,I was not. I have used and I have exceeded the limit. I am in my eighties and on a strict financial budjet. This is really unfair !!!
